About the Item

Set of Four Dining Chairs by Charles Ramos for Castellanetta Mid Century Modern Stained solid teak in original vintage condition with upholstered springed seats by French designer Charles Ramos, published by Castelanetta, Italy Repairs and gluing to assorted joints on all. Fifth chair which needs repairs will be given for free if desired. Born in 1925, Charles Ramos was a self-taught designer and interior architect. At the age of just twenty-five, he opened his own interior design agency in partnership with M. Castellanetta, his father. M. Castellanetta, his first and almost sole publisher. Two years later, Charles Ramos exhibited for the first time at the Salon des artistes décorateurs and began a fruitful collaboration with Louis Baillon as an interior architect. Among other things, he designed development programmes as part of the post-war reconstruction of Normandy.
