Set Of Twelve Italian 19th Century Rococo St. Patinated And Mecca Dining Chairs

About the Item

A handsome and finely detailed set of twelve Italian 19th century Rococo st. Patinated and Mecca dining chairs, from Venice. Each most elegant chair is supported by two front cabriole legs with Mecca acanthus leaf details and two square back legs with Mecca filets that follow the lines of the chair. Leading up to the front top corners of the legs are additional Mecca reserves flanking the scalloped apron with a richly carved central foliate movement centered by a seashell. The upholstered seat is surrounded by a wonderful and most unique Mecca border which conceals the edges of the upholstery. Above is the tall central patinated wood splat back with Mecca reserves at the center and a charming foliate movement at the top.
