About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely suite of six original Napoleon III French Empire Revival mahogany and bronze mounted dining chairs A good original suite, you have four standard chairs and then an old His and Hers pair of carvers which is to say one is larger than the other. These are French Empire Revival, they have bronzed mounts in the back rests and look very decorative In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished them timber, they have all been repaired over the years and have spliced timber sections and so on, they have all been checked by my carpenter, he has glued and clamped all the frames and they are in good condition, some of the seat platforms are a little low on stuffing and the new owner may want to re-pad one or two If I were keeping them I would have them reupholstered, the red velvet is nice and usable but I would replace them with black velvet X4 chair dimensions Height 88.5cm, seat height 44cm Width 45cm Depth 44.5cm X1 Large carver dimensions Height 90.5cm, seat height 47cm Width 58cm Depth 60cm X1 medium carver dimensions Height 87cm, seat 44cm Width 57cm Depth 51cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
