Unique Set of Six Dining Chairs by Axel Enthoven for Rohe Noorwolde, 1970s
About the Item
From one of Belgium’s leading designers, Axel Enthoven, is this beautifully-crafted set of six Post-Modern dining armchairs by manufacturer Rohe Noorwolde. The unique form is created from three cylindrical pieces of bamboo that are steam bent and intertwined to shape the frame, backrest, arms, and legs. The slight recline of the chair backs combined with the sweeping arm rests and upholstered seats, provide the ultimate in comfort while dining. The seat cushions are easily removable for upholstery of choice. The finish has a natural green tint and has patinated in areas of use revealing the natural bamboo underneath and adding to the overall charm of the chairs. The chairs are solid, sturdy, and durable attesting to the superb craftsmanship and design, and should easily handle even the most obnoxious house guest. Circa 1970's.
The chairs measure 44.75" tall x 25.75" wide x 27" deep. The chair seat height is 19" while the interior cushion measures 18.5" wide x 19" deep.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Great overall vintage condition with normal wear from use. Original green wash finish has patinated in places to reveal natural brown underneath. Cushions are faded and are simple to pop out and reupholster. Solid and sturdy construction.
