In the late 19th century, Liberty of London began producing the Egyptian-style stool in flexible-yet-durable plywood as a part of the store's Furnishing & Decorating Studio. Liberty continued manufacturing the stool until approximately 1919 and, since that time, designers have reproduced the style all over the world. I’d say they are here to stay!!
