Der Entwurf stammt aus dem Jahr 1905 und war erstmals im Jacob & Josef Kohn Katalog aus dem Jahr 1906 unter der Modellnummer 675 C/F (C = Couch, F = Fauteuil) zu sehen. 1910 wurde sie auf der „Exposición Internacional del Centenario“ in Buenos Aires gezeigt. Mit dieser Garnitur sorgte Hoffmann für einen seiner wichtigsten und berühmtesten Möbelentwürfe.
