Antonio Citterio & Paolo Nava for Vibieffe, 'Splaf' lounge chair with ottoman, grey boucle fabric, chrome-plated steel, Italy, circa 1970
Extremely comfortable and soft lounge chair and ottoman designed by Antonio Citterio and Paolo Nava, dating back to the seventies. This design institutionalizes the image of the informal sitting where everything has a soft line. Here the mass of the material and the backrest is supported and contained by a metal armour. The uncanny, original design consists of round overflowing cushions. Beautiful elements are the chromed steel parts which hold the cushions in place on the frame. This set is utterly pleasant to sit and take naps in, and the nice appearance makes this set wonderful to place in a living room or study.
