Bauhaus Pair Duo Beech Canvas Geometric Lounge Chairs 1920s Germany

About the Item

Beech vintage lounge chairs or armchairs with light cream canvas attributed to Bauhaus in geometric shape circa 1920 Germany. An amazing freestanding pair of lounge chairs or armchairs from beech, while the seat and the foldable backrest shows light cream canvas. An extraordinary feature is the stacked seat frame, just sticked with metal pins, without screws and without glue. These geometric lounge chairs show extraordinary and beautiful design from the 1920s. The striking and clear cut shape from beech is in very good original condition with minor signs of age and use while the light cream canvas is clean and ready to live. While these lounge chairs balance comfort and style, they are ideal for a hospitality area or as fireside chairs. A pair of black leather and beech 'Bastiano' lounge chairs, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1960. Scarpa designed these chairs as a part of the firm's experimental design studio. We believe these to be early 1970s examples, produced shortly after Knoll acquired Gavina SpA...
