Pair of armchairs, beech, straw, France, 1950s
Pair of lounge chairs originating from 1950s France. These chairs feature an elegantly sculpted frame, which is executed in darkened beech wood. The seating and backrest are made of sturdy woven straw, following the shape of the frame fully without interruptions. This natural and rustic style is typical for French design in the midcentury period. The brown beech wood and its shape provides a modest, yet highly pleasant aesthetic.
