About the Item
One of the most sublime lounge chairs to come out the Danish midcentury era the model Pragh designed by Ib Madsen and Acton Schubell in the early 1950s for their own company Madsen and Schubell Madsen located just north of Copenhagen. A very sculptural and almost sensuous design. The scale is quite large and while it bears some resemblance to Phillip Arctander's Clam chairs the Model Pragh has a lot more size and heft and can actually match Wegner's Papa Bear chair in terms of size, sturdiness and comfort. The armrests are made from solid teak and the legs are from solid oak that have attained a nice teak colored patina over the years. Newly refurbished and reupholstered in nice gray and charcoal wool fabric. Overall excellent.
Ottoman measures 13.75" D x 22.25" W x 15" H. We are able to reupholster this chair in any fabric including shearling at a very competitive price.
