About the Item
A Set of 4, Late 20th Century Folding Chairs Designed by Peter Karpf for Skagerak / Trip Trap, Denmark.
The chairs are made oak and beige canvas and in good vintage condition.
One of the chairs does show slightly more wear to frame and seat than the other three, as pictured, but this does not effect its look or usage.
The chairs are super comfortable and great for space-saving, as they neatly fold up and away!
More about the designer:
Peter Karpf was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1940, trained as a cabinetmaker under Fritz Hansen and qualified as a furniture designer from the Copenhagen School of Arts & Crafts. During his career, Peter Karpf has, among other things, worked with furniture design for Grethe Jalk, interior design with Arne Jacobsen and industrial design with Erik Herløw.
In 2002 Karpf was awarded the prestigious Bruno Mathson Prize - the most prestigious design award in Scandinavia.
His designs are represented at numerous museums worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris.
