Max Lamb '005' lounge chair in solid Finnish pine wood for Vaarnii Designed by Max Lamb and made by expert Finnish artisans, the 005 Lounge Chair's solid first impression soon gives way to a visual softness and physical comfort. Material is scooped out of the building block-like forms to make two ample indentations. Executed in sustainably sourced Finnish pine. The result is a strikingly singular chair ‘mathematical in its approach and transparent in its construction’ according to Lamb. Vaarnii’s sculptural and organic designs combine Finnish modernist refinement with a traditional emphasis on craftsmanship. Their sustainably sourced pine wood furniture and lighting is made to order by local craftspeople and small-scale fabricators in Finland. Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities. Please note that due to the organic nature of pine wood, and as a result of the naturally occurring oils and resins, its color will change as it ages. Pine heartwood and sapwood will age at different rates, resulting in one-of-a-kind striped patterns. Over the years, the colors will slowly even out and mature to a beautiful honey tone. Although pine is the hardest softwood, it may dent and scratch over time depending on everyday use. Because of the nature of wood, each product has a unique grain, color, and pattern. Made to order.
