Carcino Design
CARCINO Design Lab, fondato a Venezia nel 2021 e avvivato dalle più antiche correnti della città lagunare, si fa interprete di un linguaggio universale, di contenuti e forme, rivolto sia a Oriente che a Occidente. Il primo obbiettivo dello studio è la ricerca della bellezza, forse la più importante competenza richiesta a un architetto, così complessa da ritrovare, ma sicuramente concreta nell’espressione. Il secondo obbiettivo è la comunicazione, poiché non può esistere un’architettura o un progetto di design senza una coscienza comune, senza una capacità collettiva di riconoscere nella materia il linguaggio dell’artefice. La sinossi dei punti toccati precedentemente la ritroviamo nella “plastica” ovvero nella materia modellata; ecco, quindi, che l’opera in CARCINO Design lab non è fine a sé stessa ma idea, disegno, materia e comunicazione. Cerchiamo sempre, in ogni oggetto, di ritrovare questi concetti, la cui trasposizione nel linguaggio corrente è facilmente individuabile in: “Qualità”. In CARCINO Design Lab si è sempre cercato di valicare qualsiasi ostacolo, visibile e non, mettendo sempre in discussione l’approccio al lavoro e andando alla ricerca degli ultimi strumenti disponibili per la modellazione, arrivando a toccare le pionieristiche frontiere dell’intelligenza artificiale. The model with a wide seat has the characteristic, sculptural frame. The tapered and tilted legs with sharp edges are typical for the designers. The sculpted seat contains a high back with space between the upholstered back and the frame, a beautiful detail. The red colour of the skai leather forms a warm combination with the oak wood. Studio B.B.P.R. was an Italian architectural partnership founded in Milan in 1932 by Gianluigi Banfi (1910-1945), Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso (1909-2004), Enrico Peressutti (1908-1976) and Ernesto Nathan Rogers (1909-1969) who had studied at the Politecnico di Milano. B.B.P.R. was thus an acronym formed from the first letters of their family names. The architects found each other in their opposition to fascism in Italy in the 1930s and 1940s during Mussolini's autocratic regime. The architects therefore believed in developing a style that would have no references to contemporary politics. During the Second World War, they all joined the resistance. However, Rogers, a Jew, fled to Switzerland and both Belgiojoso and Banfi were deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria, where Banfi died in 1945.
