About the Item
Very rare throne, one of two manufactured chairs, presented at the Werkbund-exhibition Cologne in 1914. One of the displayed images shows the Werkbund exhibition 1914 with two chairs, such as the one in the WOKA collection and two chairs with a different back. Published: “Interieur 1914, Deutsche Werkkunst, page 37”. The original covering was a colourful woven fabric with geometric ornaments. Heinrich Kathrein was a pupil of Josef Hoffmann.
