Pair of Arp Chairs by Steiner, France, 1950

About the Item

A pair of chairs, designed by ARP and manufactured by Steiner in France, circa 1950. ARP stands for Atelier de Recherches Plastiques (Research Plastic Studio) and is composed of the famous designers Pierre Guariche, Joseph Andre´ Motte, and Michel Mortier. These chairs are an iconic piece of mid-century design! This edition features armrests. The chairs are newly upholstered with grey fabric, which contrasts nicely to the black rectangular frame. Overall it gives them a wonderful modern appeal and a very nice seating comfort thanks to the slightly tilted backrest and upholstered armrests. Sold as a set. The price is for both chairs together. The set remains in very good, vintage condition with new upholstery and preserving a beautiful patina.
