Pair of Gainsborough Library chairs in the Chippendale taste

About the Item

An outstanding pair of Enlish made 20th century mahogany Library charis in the 'French' Chippendale style. The legs carved with acantus leaves and 'C' scrolls and hairy paw feet. Believed to have been made in the first half of the 20th century by unknown makers. Fabric is clean and usable but would benefit from re-upholstery in a more approprieate fabric. A stunning pair of chairs to compliment even the grandest of classical interiors.
