Percival Lafer Style Leather Lounge Chair by Gerard Van Den Berg for Montis

Mid-Century leather lounge chair designed by Gerard Van Den Berg for Montis. Dark stained oak frame with tripod legs supports the leather bucket seat cushion and headrest. In original condition with heavy visible wear consistent with its age and use, including staining, scratches, and possible minor tears or losses. Gerard van de Berg's designs exemplify clarity, simplicity, and comfort. The Dutchman defines design as the ability to think clearly. He concentrates on a simple concept and avoids the temptation to embellish and complicate it. "I try to keep a single, pure form from the first sketch to the finished product. The power is in the essence of the premise, not the frills. As soon as you need it, there appears to be something missing from the idea itself."
