About

After WWII, American furniture manufacturers began to explore production options using new materials created for the war effort. The Knockdown Furniture Co. created their simple and modern line of furniture from plywood. Designed to furnish the new suburban homes with a product shipped flat packed and assembled by the home owner with a rubber mallet and glue. Pieces from the range retain an organic Mid-Century Modern simplicity and are rarely seen. This lot includes a single lounge chair, measures 31" tall, 20.5" wide and 20.5" deep Shows an old refinish and warm patina from time. Minor restorations, bump to front seat edge, and small areas of veneer loss to supports at back.
