Rare bamboo Lounge Chair by Ubunji Kidokoro
About the Item
This is probably one of the first chairs made and later models have the Stamp Tokyo Japan came later. This one does not have the stamp and it is slightly smaller than the ones with the stamp.
Ubunji Kikodoro "rocking" chair designed in 1937 for the Mitsukoshi furniture design room. It was also shown at the universal exhibition in New York in 1939. Charlotte Perriand was inspired when she designed her bamboo chaise long and arm chair for her exhibition in Tokyo in 1941. Made of patinated bamboo.
