With complete freedom and over a year in the making, the result is an original and inspiring assemblage of objects that eschew trends and reflect the unique narratives of their makers. The Rock Sofa, exclusively made for St. Vincents, is inspired by the stone clusters and rock formations seen on beaches. Asymmetric and informal, like rocks jutting out the earth, it invites the sitter to relax without imposing a fixed seating position. The tactile Pierre Frey fabric gives it a light and soft quality matching its intended use as a lounge chair. FRED RIGBY is a London-based furniture and interior design practice founded by Fred Rigby in 2008. The independent studio works across scales from complete interiors to sculptural yet functional furniture that adds playfulness, presence and comfort to everyday life. Fred Rigby Studio has designed interiors for Villa Lena in Tuscany, Francis Gallery in Bath, Michelin-starred restaurants Ellory and Leroy, multiple retail destinations and private residences. The studio’s furniture and interior designs are characterised by organic shapes, natural symbolism and earthy materials to provide a strong connection to nature indoors.
