The Seashell chair was inspired by Bivalve seashells. The shape in which mollusks adapted their exoskeletons for protection is a simple yet elegant solution that results in a beautiful form, product of millions of years of evolution. You can see this inspiration through the dual curvatures and contours that make up the shape of the chair. The design started with a sketch and was further developed with computational tools and algorithms. Its final shape is composed of a series of individual and unique outlines. Each of these shapes or outlines is made from steel rods that are carefully molded and welded together in a hand-made process by master craftsmen. The chair is available in a powder-coated black, white or silver finish. There is also a special edition version, made with stainless steel rods in a satin finish for outdoor settings.
