An incredibly rare and beautiful sofa by the Great Henry Olko for his Willow and Reed firm, circa 1980. This stunning example is from Olko's boutique "Manau" series. Expertly crafted rattan construction with a panels in bamboo; beautiful accents in cane. This particular seating series displays all of the design characteristics that makes this gifted Artist's work so memorable and special. An accomplished formally trained architect with a Master's degree from MIT, Mr. Olko was never satisfied with the ordinary; he routinely reached to achieve the spectacular. Olko furniture is far more than Rattan - it is Art. Important pieces designed to anchor an important space. Excellent restored condition. The rattan has aged to absolute perfection. The frames have been professionally cleaned and re-lacquered. The rattan projects a rich warmth and range of color. Lacquer finish with fabulous depth and sheen. All bamboo and accent bindings are intact and complete. The arm height is 25 inches. Retains the Maker mark.
