19th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut and Cane Desk Armchair with Cushion
About the Item
Decorate a study or office with this elegant antique desk armchair. Crafted in Provence, France, circa 1870, the corner chair has an arched cane back decorated at the top with floral motif. The traditional desk chair stands on four carved cabriole legs embellished with acanthus leaf motifs at the shoulder and ending with scroll feet over foliage decor; it is further decorated with a scalloped apron featuring floral rosettes. The comfortable, classically French seat with cane is dressed with a custom removable fabric cushion embellished with fringes. The Louis XV armchair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina.
