About the Item
Great design, wonderfully executed and truly comfortable desk chair from circa 1910.
This striking but relatively small size Arts & Crafts desk chair is ideal for ladies or for not so tall gentlemen. It is of modest proportion, but the design is grand. It comes with a variety of very stylish Arts & Crafts design elements that make this chair a beautiful antique to behold. The combination of its unique design, the original upholstery and the warm patina is what immediately attracted us. To find out that it also is very comfortable to sit in, 'sealed the deal' for us. We realized early on that when you see a unique and stylish antique in this kind of a condition then you should always try to acquire it. Especially when it also is practical and comfortable to use. Mind you, this chair is as strong and stable as the day it left the artisan's studio more than one hundred years ago. Even with the few truly minor imperfections it has we feel no hesitation in rating this remarkable chair as being 'in excellent condition'.
