Pair Very Early Hans Wegner Swivel Chair for Johannes Hansen
About the Item
I decided not to touch, restore or clean these in any way because I know whoever buys them will want to do this themselves.
There are no structural issues at all with either chair. The teak backs with their prominent finger joints are beautiful and just need a light refinishing. The satin chrome legs could stand a cleaning with extra fine steel wool. Personally I like the well worn leather seats. They are both the same black leather but one chair was used more regularly than the other so has a greater amount of crackle and wear.
The chair with the seemingly darker seat has one partially missing Bakelite wheel. The caster itself is fine but the Bakelite wheel has a clean break missing about 1/4th the wheel. This break does not go through the axil so a partially rubber prosthesis could be applied. Again, I'm going to leave it up to the buyer whether to add a whole new caster or to mend the wheel.
