UPCYCLING The idea of Darono grew from the materials up to the product, and further to the concept of the brand. “We visited a lot of textile factories around Europe and realized that there was an enormous volume of resources that were being sent to landfills, by-products of production.” says founder Catarina Carvalho. “So we started rescuing this pre-consumer waste and testing the potential of each one of these materials. Hence, Upcycling being the starting concept of Darono.
