Lacquered Dragon Bench China or Japan c. 1890

An unusually large lacquered carved wood dragon bench / settee made in China or Japan, circa 1890. These pieces where made for export for wealthy westerners that where fascinated by all things Asian. We have never seen this large size before. This piece has wonderful sculptural quality. Perfect foil for a stark contemporary interior. Great in an entry or in front of a large window.
