Louis XV1 Walnut Ormolu Settee
About the Item
Very attractive Louis XV1 Walnut settee with hand painted Porcelains and Ormolu trim. This piece retains its original surface and a great aged color and patina to the French polish Walnut surface. The frame side rails had some movement in them so the original seat horse hair upholstery and eight way tied brass springs were removed to professionally knock apart and reglue the frame and arms. The original springs are included with the settee. Very good original condition and would be stunning recovered with period correct style fabric. One of the porcelains was repaired on the left seat rail as see in the photo. The frame is solid and tight and ready to be upholstered with the fabric of your choice.
