19th Century Set of 4 English Oak Parquetry Chairs

About the Item

Set of four elegant English side chairs in oak, with fruitwood inlay. The seat back has a hand laid border of inlaid barber pole inlay surrounding the central panel, which has hand carved and fluted arched columns over a central parquetry design, which gives the chairs an added elegance. The seats have lovely graining, and are supported on central bulbous turned vase shaped trestles. In the back, there is additional simple support, so as not to distract from he beauty of the trestles. The legs are joined by a simple cross stretcher for added support. These are simply stunning and would look great in many places in any home or office.
