English Queen Anne Style Walnut Side Chair

About

An English walnut Queen Anne style side chair with open back having hand-carved fish scale motif at knee and upholstered slip seat. Nearly identical models of this chair exist in the Frick Collection. The chair is attributed to Mr Frick's interior designer Sir Charles Allom who based his designs on 18th century English models. This Queen Anne style chair is believed to have been made to match a set of 18th century Queen Anne chairs in Mr. Frick's collection.
