Fine Pair of 18th-19th Century Carved Hall Chairs
About the Item
A fine pair of antique hall chairs with carved relief decoration on the backs of a heraldic lion on top of a castle turret, likely English. The shaped crest rails with carved acanthus leaves, the fluted friezes with a sunburst motif. Raised on square fluted front legs.
Measures: Height 37 1/4", length 18", depth 20", seat height 18 1/2"
Condition: Scrapes to the front legs, wear to crest rail, slight finish loss to a front corner (see photo), expected wear to the seat with old gouges however the chairs presenting very well.
