Fully Restored Medea Side Chair in Dark Exotic Hardwood, Nobili, 1955 Italy

About the Item

'Medea' chair, designed by Italian designer Vittorio Nobili for Tagliabue, Italy 1955. Molded dark brown exotic hardwood ply shell in a delectable satin oil finish accented with high gloss brass hardware. Four legged base of black painted steel with plastic floor glides. This chair has been awarded with the prestigious prize "Compasso d'Oro in 1956. Fully and professionally restored. The chair has not been stained. It is only finished with a subtle oil finish, which makes the natural grain really "pop" in a very authentic way while maintaining the smooth feeling of the natural wood. A similar chair in the same restored condition is also available, with the same wood but slightly different tone. It provokes a beautiful interest and homage to the natural materials.
