Jugendstil Vntage Authentic Side Chair Slipper Chair Desk Chair Model No. 405 by Joseph Urban for Gebrüder Thonet circa 1903, Vienna.
A wonderful chair or side chair from stained beech and straight covered leather on seat on back designed by Joseph Urban circa 1903.
This chair features brass decor nails to fix the original leather. It seems, that the leather floats over the chair, further the legs show four ( 4 ) brass shoes.
Beautiful patina characterizes this chair as well the wooden part as the brass details and leather.
The company´s label Thonet is underneath the seat.
Joseph Urban ( 1872 - 1933 ) Viennese architect and designer, who also opened the branch of Wiener Werkstätte of America on Fifth Avenue 581-583
in New York.

The chair is in good condition, stable and sturdy, with signs of age and use and desirable patina.
