About the Item

Pair of French 19th century Louis XVI style giltwood carved Boudoir side chairs. The low giltwood carved frames with a padded tapered backrest crowned with carved crossed flaming torches and ribbon, flanked by a pair of corner finials, raised four fluted legs, Paris, circa 1890. Note: Both chairs are in original condition. The fabric on these chairs is worn and stained and should be replaced. Measures: Height 35 3/4 inches (90.8 cm) Width 19 1/2 inches (49.5 cm) Depth 21 3/4 inches (55.3 cm) Seat height 18 3/4 inches (47.6 cm).

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Both chairs in original used condition with several touch-ups, distress and gilt-wear throughout exposing the red under-gilt base.
