About the Item

Set of 2, Tria Simple Oak by Colé Italia by Colé Italia with Lorenz & Kaz Dimensions: H 82.5, D 52, W 58 cm Materials: Plywood Chair; 4 Legs Solid Oak Base Also Available: Tria; 3 Legs, with Cushion, Black, Gold, Simple, Stool, Upholstered Our iconic chair designed by German duo Lorenz + Kaz. Tria is a table chair, at the same time many people place it as a sculpture, as ornament in an entrance, a bedroom or in a living room. It recalls the impossible forms of Dutch graphic artist and engraver Maurits Escher, defining itself in a game of twists and elusive leak. The corolla-shaped shell can be used in two different seating positions, center or side, in this case with one armrest. The shell is composed of three equal elements in bent plywood assembled together and veneered with a special wood finishing ivory/ black stripes. It is also available in veneered oak, natural or stained open pore in different colors, as well as customized colors (min. 4 units). Available with 3 or 4 solid wood legs, or 4 metal legs in different finishings. For a better back comfort if you use Tria chair in center position, for dining or studying, you can add a back cushion specially designed for it, upholstered and coated with a wide range of fabrics. Colé is a young Italian design brand, with a high-end production 100% made in Italy. Born from the experience of Matteo De Ponti, architect, who grew up in one of the most outstanding Milanese design families, and the artistic sensibility of Laura Macagno, degree in Economics and passionate of art and design. Our mission is to create design icons, beautiful and comfortable pieces that can stand the test of time, furnishing houses of international and sophisticated clients, and realized with craftsmanship, thus unique. “We love objects which own deep roots, excellent quality, and a strong evocative power. Archetypal forms dressed with new beauty without losing their classical composure”. Our expressive research is inspired by the utopian force of Italian eminences grises architects and designers of the ’50s, the Scandinavian design, the Bauhaus, ethnic handcraft and houses of famous writers of the XX century, all different as a style but united by the intense soul of those who worked and lived there.

  • Art Nouveau Set of Twelve Chairs in Solid Oak. Vienna, Circa 1910.
    Located in Vienna, AT
Hello, These exceptional set of twelve Viennese Art Nouveau solid oak chairs from circa 1910 represent a high level of craftsmanship and elegant design. Viennese Art Nouveau is a trend in Austrian art, architecture and design at the turn of the 20th century. The name was taken from the association formed by a group of artists who protested against the rejection of their work by the Vienna Academy. Gustav Klimt, Otto Wagner, Josef Hoffmann and other artists decided to completely break with the prevailing historicism and promote a new style in art, architecture, and interior design. Art Nouveau focused on simplicity, which foreshadowed modern 20th century design. The elaborate decorations emphasized the close relationship between crafts and Fine arts. Ornamentation (carvings, paintings, marquetry) referred to the world of nature - plants, birds' feathers, insects' wings. Embossed leather with lovely floral elements blends beautifully with the elegant form of the chairs. In the field of ornamentation plant and animal elements were the most important, but not the only set of motifs typical of Art Nouveau in furniture making. They were accompanied by geometric and abstract motifs, and although Art Nouveau is associated with ornamentation, some Art Nouveau furniture is rather simple in form, using shape and line rather than decoration. Compared to other trends of this style, the Vienna Secession was devoid of splendor and rich decoration. It was characterized by sublime simplicity and attention to detail, which paved the way for modern design. Artists creating in the style of Vienna Secession preferred geometric and floral ornaments. Even when using organic motifs, they tended to keep them geometric. Buildings designed in the spirit of the Viennese Art Nouveau often have elegant floral decorations which resemble these beautiful chairs. The set of twelve chairs...
