Armchair with soft seat and stainless steel frame Oxytocin
About the Item
Its soft, almost carnal cushion changes shape, adapting to the weight of the body that occupies it, accommodating it, adjusting to its size and swelling around the ropes that hold it. Despite the efforts of the ropes to confine it, the chair body desires to converse with its human counterpart. The Oxitocina chair celebrates the intersection of corporeality and materiality, contrasting organic sensuality with sculptural lines. The ergonomic responsiveness of the cushions is in stark contrast to the rigidity of the steel structure to which it is bound. Oxytocin, named after the hormone related to love and arousal, explores both the origin of desire and the object archetype. An interplay of associations and references to bodily volumes, corsets and rope bindings staged on a frame reduced to the bone.
