This gorgeous 1930s sofa has been completely restored--from the streamlined rosewood outer shell to the black leather base and the ivory chenille fabric. There is a handsomely restrained luxury in its curvilinear form which mixes well with designs of both older and younger eras. Among the great Danish cabinet makers, the 1930's was a time in which the glorious surface qualities of exotic woods were used to highlight thrilling explorations in modern form. This piece exemplifies that highpoint of design.

Shown here with a Kenneth Bergenblad Spider Lounge circa 1980, a Scribble table by contemporary sculptor Rebecca Welz, and a Spun floor lamp by Sebastian Wrong, as well as a couple of pieces of the Scandinavian Moderne.
