We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare fully restored circa 1860 hand dyed cigar brown leather Chesterfield sofa with original horse hair padding, coil sprung all over and mahogany turned legs with brass castors This sofa is a very rare model, its fully sprung all over, the back, the arms the base everything has coil springs including the front panel which sits behind your legs, this panel is usually a solid piece of timber and can be quite stiff when you sit down, on this its as mentioned sprung. What this means is this sofa is actually very comfortable, most normal Chesterfields are really quite a stiff affair, not this huge diamond. It is wider and much deeper than usual, you really can curl your legs up beside you on this These models are classed as metal framed Victorian Chesterfields and are rare as they come. If you are looking for simply put the best Victorian Chesterfield on the market then this is it full stop. The sofa has been fully restored to include having the old colour stripped out, its then been hand dyed this glorious cigar brown colour, which is exclusive to my leather polishers. The padding is all original horse hair filled so it has that great crunch.
