Established in 2006, Morentz has a team of approximately 55 restorers, upholsterers, interior advisers and art historians, making it a gallery, workshop and upholstery studio, all in one. Every day, a carefully selected array of 20th-century furniture arrives from all over the world at the firm’s warehouse, where the team thoroughly examines each piece to determine what, if any, work needs to be done. Whether that means new upholstery or a complete restoration, Morentz's aim is always to honor the designer’s intention while fulfilling the wishes of the client. The team is up to any challenge, from restoring a single piece to its original glory to furnishing a large-scale hotel project.

- Johannes Spalt 'Constanze' Sofa Daybed in Black Leather and SteelLocated in Waalwijk, NLJohannes Spalt for Wittmann, sofa or daybed, leather, chrome-plated steel, Austria, 1960s. This mid-century modern sofa is designed by the talented Austrian furniture designer Johannes Spalt. The design is characterized by a solid construction based on sharp lines and angular shapes noticeable in the body of the seat and the chromed steel base, underlining the clear structured design. The metal legs elevate the seat in a graceful way, which establish an open and more transparent look to the whole unit. The tufted seat with buttons is upholstered in black leather. As outcome, this creates more visual interest and adds a graphical touch to the quite simplistic design. By only one hand movement the 'Constance' transforms from a comfortable sofa to daybed. A very elegant and also nifty technique. Johannes Spalt (1920-2010) was a postwar Austrian architect. In 1952 he founded the collective "Arbeitsgruppe 4" together with Wilhelm Holzbauer, Friedrich Kurrent and Otto Leitner. Their ideas and designs are still a great example of Austrian architecture...Category

- Johannes Spalt Black Leather ‘Constanze’ Sofas or DaybedsBy Johannes Spalt, WittmannLocated in Waalwijk, NLJohannes Spalt for Wittmann, 'Constanze' daybed or sofa, black leather, steel, Austria, 1960s This Austrian daybed named ‘Constanze’ is typical for Mid-Century Modern design from Austria. The tufted leather seat and back is constructed with a slick and clean metal frame. The elegant slim outwards tapered legs create an open feeling and give the sofa the needed air to come across less solid and robust. By only one hand movement, the piece turns from a comfortable sofa to a daybed. Johannes Spalt (1920-2010) was a postwar Austrian architect. In 1952 he founded the collective "Arbeitsgruppe 4" together with Wilhelm Holzbauer, Friedrich Kurrent and Otto Leitner.
