Taichiro Nakai - Free Form Couch, 1954

About the Item

Designed by Taichiro Nakai (Japanese) for the Concorso Internazionale del Mobile in Cantú, 1954, this couch was awarded a prize by a jury including Gio Ponti, Finn Juhl, Alvar Aalto and Carlo di Carli. Exceptional free form, characteristic for Japanese designs, this couch has been newly upholstered in textured charcoal weave, very luxurious to the touch. You can view this piece in my gallery in Chelsea, NY.
