It is now scientifically proven that hugs eliminate stress and have a very beneficial influence on our bodies, a kind of healing effect; this thought guided designer Ricardo Antonio to create a sofa that becomes for those who sit on it like a big hug, and he named it Molto, to emphasize this concept. He designed a seat with abundant shapes and used materials that infuse softness, to convey pleasure and relaxation. The frame of the sofa is made of multilayer wood, padded with polyurethane foam in different densities, covered with protective fabric coupled with comfort fiber outer layer. The seat frame is made of solid wood with weft-mounted elastic straps, with a self-supporting non-deformable material insert, also covered in protective fabric coupled with an outer comfort fiber layer. The wooden support feet are retractable. The sofa consists of two side modules and one center module, and is modular, allowing for even longer seating. The Molto line also includes a footstool. The ergonomics of objects is a serious topic for Ricardo Antonio, so much so that in 2017, together with other partners, he founded 'Pleasure-Lab,' a nonprofit research institute and design laboratory based in Milan, Italy, that investigates what he calls the Ergonomics of Pleasure, a new approach to the discipline of traditional ergonomics.
