Yellow Corduroy Four-Seater Sofa by Ejner Larsen & Aksel Bender Madsen

About the Item

A four-seater sofa designed by Ejner Larsen & Aksel Bender Madsen, produced by master cabinet-maker, Willy Beck, and recently reupholstered in a warm primrose yellow corduroy. Larsen and Bender Madsen began designing together in 1947, having met whilst studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Professor Kaare Klint. Together, Larsen and Bender Madsen produced approximately 300 furniture designs, including this four-seater sofa. The bold curves of the design create an overarching impression of fullness, whilst the distinctive angular arms provide a touch of playfulness. The sofa also features wonderfully rich teak legs which ground the bright upholstery.
