Counter Stool in Ash
About the Item
In our newest design we took the essence of our dining chair and adapted it into a counter height stool. The design draws the eye up the long tapered leg, to the soft curve of the back, giving a striking and sultry effect. The foot rest and arm rests have been intentionally calculated to accommodate various body sizes. The arms will fit under traditional counters, allowing the stool to be tucked away or placed visibly around an island. The counter stool with its daring angles is a chic contemporary take on classic windsor stylings.

Every piece of this collection is designed by Fuugs and made from salvaged trees, milled by us, dried and crafted into furniture by hand in Philadelphia, PA. They are finished with a beeswax finish we make ourselves.
Due to the organic nature of our material, the wood for each piece made will be unique. This may cause variation in the grain, color and texture of the finished piece.

Fuugs
Fuugs is a small, sustainably dedicated, locally based, hand built wooden furniture company. We offer a catalog of beautiful, durable and sustainable designs to people ready to invest in an alternative to the disposable products of box stores. Since 2016 we have worked to create furniture that stands out both for its radical approach to material sourcing and for the artful design that blends aesthetic and functionality. Our material is reclaimed by us from urban trees that we save from the waste stream, sequestering carbon in our furniture to make all of our products truly carbon negative. The design comes from the minds of sculptors and partners in life and business, Greg Fuguet and Kristen Snow. Alumni of Tyler School of Art’s Sculpture program, we have honed our craft for a decade into furniture that changes how we engage with the world. Inspiration for our designs comes from the fellow Pennsylvania natives Wharton Esherick and George Nakashima, as well as Danish Modernism, Mid-century Modernism, and the Shakers. Everything is made by hand in our Philadelphia studio. We use beeswax and pure linseed oil to finish our furniture, which makes it durable, easily repairable and totally safe.
