Early Oak Joint Stool, circa 1690-1720

About the Item

circa 1690-1720 William and Mary period English joint stool made from oak. The top has routing decoration on the front and back sides, and has pie crust decoration on the sides. The construction is pegged. The top follows down to a lovely hand carved decorated and scalloped apron, and the stool is supported on splayed and hand turned legs, joined by simple stretchers. This is a wonderful example of William and Mary period craftsmanship.
