Pair of Ebonised Stools Attributed to Koloman Moser

About the Item

Pair of ebonised stools attributed to Koloman Moser. Koloman Moser (1868-1918) was one of the foremost artists of the Vienna Secession movement, founded in 1897, and the following Wiener Werkstatte in 1903. Both movements were close in ideals to Art Nouveau, and marked the beginning of modern art in Austria. The artists involved pushed design forwards fairly constantly up until the outbreak of World War I. This pair of stools are in completely untouched condition, with their original fabric upholstery which is also in the Wiener Werkstatte taste. To find a pair in this condition is rare, and they are a wonderful accent for any interior.
