About the Item
This design comes from South Africa, Ndebele.
The South Ndebele peoples of Africa wear neck rings as part of their traditional dress and as a sign of wealth and status. Metal rings are also worn on different parts of the body, not just the neck. Traditionally these rings are given to a wife by her husband, as a sign of faithfulness. They are usually made of copper.
