1900s Set of two Art Nouveau Italian Thonet Barber Swivel Chairs
About the Item
Two swivel chairs used on a Barber Shop in early 20th century, they have been restored, wood part are in good conditions, also headrests have been restored and upholstered in a brown sky leather, they are an exquisite examples of Art Nouveau design and craftsmanship. These chairs feature curvaceous silhouettes, and a sense of movement in their design. The backrest, armrests, and legs also exhibit graceful, almost serpentine curves. Given that these chairs are barber chairs, they would likely have a swivel mechanism to allow the barber to easily access their clients. Art Nouveau chairs were designed not only for aesthetic appeal but also for comfort. The seats would be contoured and padded to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for the barber's clients.
