About

Delightful pair of 19th century carved Hitchcock style armchairs known as ball-back bamboo fancy chairs. Attributed to David Alling of Newark, NJ. These rare chairs were made from 1815-1820 fashioned after the "organ spindle chair". These Windsor hybrid chairs feature a rush seat with a moulded frame around the outside. Ebonized finish with a beautiful distressed vintage patina.
