Antique 18th Century Spanish Colonial Carved Cedar Coffer Chest Mexico 1750
About the Item
Antique 18th century Spanish Colonial carved cedar coffer/chest, Mexico, circa 1750.
The chest having a lift up lid with hand cut iron strap hinges, the chest is profusely chip-carved to the front with stylized floral panels and fitted with the original iron lock and hasp.
The coffer having raised panels to each side, the base having a a slaped skirt and the chest is raised on stile feet. The chest has a rich dark 'honey' colored patina and condition is very good.
