Early 20th Century Japanese Camphor Wood Campaign Chest
About the Item
Early 20th century Japanese Camphor Wood Campaign chest, WW I or WW II vintage, a sailor's camphor wood chest with brass binding and clasps, with original key and period decals. It is interesting to see the walls of this chest are much thinner and lighter than seen in earlier 19th Century Chinese Export or Anglo-Indian campaign chests.
The chest remains in very good, solid condition, with working locks, and warm darkened patina.
Measures: 11=1/2 in H x 32 in long x 15 in wide.
